Lexi is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Capella University and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Judson University. She brings extensive experience in animal-assisted therapies, including training and volunteering with therapy dogs, and holds specialized certifications in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Equine Assisted EMDR through EAGALA and Natural Lifemanship.
Throughout her career, Lexi has worked across a variety of settings providing crisis intervention, case management, counseling services, and community-based support. She has experience working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and veterans from diverse backgrounds, including individuals navigating both combat and non-combat-related PTSD.
Lexi approaches her work from a trauma-informed perspective, integrating evidence-based modalities such as person-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and EMDR. She incorporates these approaches into her equine-assisted work, including Equine Assisted EMDR, to support clients in processing and healing from trauma. While her primary focus is trauma treatment, she also works with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, OCD, interpersonal challenges, and life transitions. Outside of her professional work, Lexi enjoys spending time on her farm, riding in the horse stables, and being outdoors with her family and animals.
